Kaitlin

A R T I S T

Growing up, I was always surrounded by paper and pencils; constantly drawing or painting. As soon as I found out that being an ‘artist’ was a profession, I knew that was what I wanted to do. I got into Emily Carr after high school, but deferred my dream of being an artist to work and save some money. Skip forward to 14 coffee-filled years at Starbucks, and managing one on Vancouver Island, I finally made my way back to art through a new-found love of tattoos. I moved back to Kelowna in 2018 to be closer to family and pursue tattooing, finding an apprenticeship where I met Leslie.

I’m so happy to have found my forever home here at Inked Angels Tattoo. Leslie’s visons of an inclusive, female-friendly shop with an amazing atmosphere was something I knew I wanted to be part of. Her incredible work ethic and the attention to detail and love she puts into everything she does inspires me daily. Also her Excel spreadsheets are impressive. Thank you for always being the Harry to my Lloyd.

I love challenging myself and I love that tattooing allows me to always be growing and improving my craft. The best advice I ever got was, "draw until you’re sick of drawing, then draw some more." I keep that with me, and most of the time, I can be found drawing or painting when not tattooing. I don’t consider myself to have a set style yet, but I love doing linework, illustrative, black and grey, colour, and absolutely anything, bird, flower, or nature related. I also enjoy the challenge of a good coverup!

I’m so thankful that art is finally my everyday career, and am so lucky for the amazing space I get to do it in. Thank you to all my clients for being so amazing and laughing with us every day.
